August, September, and October have already been completed in what is turning out to be a two-horse Premier League title race. Three months into the season and it is not unreasonable to suggest that Chelsea’s title defence is as good as over. So, if José Mourinho’s Blues are long-shots to retain their crown at 67.00 with Betfair, who can take it from them?

Man City @ 1.90 with Betfair

Shrewd punters will have pounced on Man City when they were available at 13.00 in special offers with select sports betting sites. Since then, however, the odds have tumbled to 1.90 with Betfair.

Man City have appeared to be the most well-rounded team in the league, claiming 25 points from a possible 33 in their first 11 games. The Citizens scored 26 goals, while conceding only nine over that period, giving them a league-best +17 goal difference.

Manuel Pellegrini has turned around his bleak summer through the excellent summer acquisitions of Kevin De Bruyne, Raheem Sterling, and Nicolás Otamendi, all of whom have strengthened Man City for the better.

Arsenal @ 2.50 with Betfair

Arsène Wenger was derided by Arsenal fans for not buying a holding midfielder or top-class striker in the summer. Petr Čech’s arrival has undoubtedly improved Arsenal for the better, but the fans could have a point regarding Wenger’s lack of transfer activity.

Arsenal also racked up 25 points in their first 11 games, scoring 21 and conceding eight for a +13 goal difference. On the surface, Arsenal have definitely improved in the league and are stronger than they were last season.

Nevertheless, their Champions League collapse has suggests that they do not have the mental strength to win the Premier League for the first time since 2003/04.

Man Utd @ 10.00

Louis van Gaal has won La Liga, the Bundesliga, and the Eredivisie, but those experiences will not guarantee him the equivalent success in England. Although Man Utd were only four points behind after 11 games, the Reds’ +7 goal difference does not bode well.

Man Utd have been correctly priced at 10.00 for their attacking struggles. They do have a solid defence, but their inability to score goals suggests that their crosstown rivals are the superior pick in the title race.
